are humans inherently bad? no. inherently greedy? yes. why? evolution of course. humans want the best resources for themselves and their offspring. bad guys in movies always do it simply because they are evil and i'm perfectly aware that there are truly evil people in the world. but the majority of "bad" people are simply stupid and greedy.
however, humans are also inherently altruistic. why? because humans survive better in groups than alone and groups survive better if you can trust the members in them. also darwin.
religion tends to make it worse.
